Yes, there are a lot of details to work out after leaving an abusive situation - I never said there weren't.

But I maintain, it is better for children NOT to witness domestic violence, and mothers shouldn't get a free pass on that part of the equation. Perhaps a first time, but if LEOs have been to the house over and over again . . . at some point something has to happen to protect the children.

There must be middle ground somewhere between the advocates who cry 'never blame the woman' and folks who wish to see children protected from violence and the poor choices of parents they didn't choose.
