
Lately they have been careless and either made my arm purple with a bad connection on the "pump back" line or the seperation filter failed. Got another 10 days till I can donate again so we'll see what happens then.
I didn't know that - my second son, born prematurely, had two blood transfusions in the time before he was due to be born. They weren't any fancy blood - in fact it was 'just' my blood, 'cos it was a bit urgent and the circumstances warranted it and luckily we were a match - and I'm O+, the most common blood group. They were just 'regular' transfusions. Luckily he thrived and survivedPremature and new born babies don't have an immunity built up yet, so they can't take regular blood transfusions from everyday donors. They have to have hyper-clean blood in order to thrive and survive.
Plus it takes less acohol to get a buzz on.No matter what else happens that day you can go home knowing that you did 1 good thing for someone.
