There is a 12 foot span of floor to ceiling windows in my living room looking out onto the balcony. Because of the sliding doors/windows, it really amounts to cleaning four surfaces across the entire width, for a total of about 380 square feet of area to be cleaned.
So after hours of jumping back and forth between inside and out, figuring out on which side this smudge or that has been left, I find myself discovering a new smear left for me to clean every time I walk by and the light hits the glass from a different angle. I was less conscious of the dirt when there was a uniform layer of grime deposited on them; now I will be attacking them with a spray bottle and paper towel every time I see the slightest smudge.
It just takes all of the satisfaction out of having done the job.
