Some call them ski trainers, or elliptical trainers.

I hate them, I use them to warm up at the gym as they are a whole body exercise, but are gentle on my fucked knees and ankles as there is no impact when "running" on them, nasty sweaty bloody things.

I love them. I spend about 30 minutes running on one of them til I am a sweaty mess then I move onto the weight machines.

A bane on Mickey D's and KFC, and their targeting of families with children. :arg

You may remember the falling-out with a girlfriend I had a couple of years ago; not because I called her kids fat, but because I offered to take them to a gym class with me? At that time, they were 110lbs; in other words- fat!

Well, she should have listened, because NOW her kids are obese. I am not exaggerating for effect; the oldest must be twelve now, and her mother has to shop for her in the adult women's X-large section.
The sight was shocking- I hadn't talked to her in person since our little tiff. Since then, I'd minded my own business about her kid's weight problem, and she never mentioned there was any further issue.
Then last month we both got invited to the same party...
 I literally couldn't put my arms completely around them for a hug! Those girls must be over 200lbs! ... all from a steady diet of fast-food crap.
It didn't help that my brainwashed friend, encouraged this kind of eating.

The last time I was there, she had bought them McDonald's™ for lunch, and not just 'Happy Meals™' but full-sized to go combos. After finishing off the whole thing, one girl was still hungry, but had the proper instinct to ask her mother,
"Can I have some fruit?"
To which Mom replies, "There's another burger in the bag, why don't you eat that?"
[!!!?] That was the moment I tried, nearly implored her to let me start the girls on some exercise.
Now, look at what getting all butthurt has cost her; the problem has gotten too huge for her to ignore.

That's the good news; since visiting with her again, she's mentioned the girls are seeing a doctor; getting diet tips and getting a little* more exercise.

*Still not enough, they just play a dance along video game, but I guess it's a start.

Mom still can't stay off the fast food, but at least they've switched to Subway™. :shrug
