Australia Day 2012: "Barbie Girl"

Post by alice »

Australia Day is January 26 - it's a public holiday.

Sam Kekovich is as much a part of Australia Day as the Australian flag. Every year he comes up with an amusing way to entice people to eat more lamb,l using the Australia day celebrations and barbeques as his recurring 'theme.

I particularly love this years offering :D

This was the first one I saw and still my favourite...

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

It almost wouldn't be Australia day without him nowadays!!!

By the way, this is my all time ever ever ever favourite version of the Australian National Anthem. It's sung by Adam hills (Australian comedian, presenter and all time really nice bloke) to the tune of the Springsteen song 'Working Class man', which all Australians of any patriotic breeding associate with our very own Jimmy barnes (ex-Cold Chisel member and Australian Icon who is actually really Scottish) [It's our multiculturalism - we claim people from all nationalities as 'ours']...

Hillsy does a great Barnesy impression, and he makes the Anthem really rock!!!
