What price an Olympic medal?

Re: What price an Olympic medal?
Aus. got 58 medals in the Sydney Olympics with a population of just over 20M. Team GB got 65 medals in London with a population of about 85M.
I'd have to give the nod to Aus for much better efficiency.

Re: What price an Olympic medal?
That's funny, when we debated medal tally in comparison to population over at the CSB, and it was shown that Aus per-capita did better at the Sydney Olympics than the USA, you said such comparisons were not valid.
Glad to see you've realised the error of your ways.

Husband to wife 'My Olympic condoms have arrived, i think I'll wear gold tonight'
Wife replies, 'Why not wear silver & come second for a change'
Comentators at the Olympics say it's impossible to knock 5 seconds off your personal best .
A bloke managed it yesterday when he was watching the ladies beach volleyball, and heard the wife's car pulling into the drive .

But that reflects on you, not on us.
You are a bitter nasty poor people. Sad.
We continue to outperform a nation with a population 5 times our size. (China)

Does anyone see any resemblance, or refuting, by retard's reply to my original post?
How he loves shooting himself in the foot.
What a foolish little spoiled brat he is!

We did it back at the CSB, I've pointed out your inconsistency, that's good enough for me.

Re: What price an Olympic medal?
Does the Australian government invest in "sport" solely for the purpose of winning Olympic medals?
I rather doubt it.
The pursuit of excellence is its own reward.
At least that's what I've heard. I have always pursued "pretty good."

Talk about projection much?
Retard is exposed as a hypocrite, then resorts to his, ever more frequent, dummy spitting routine.
here you go retard..
Everybody says the great medal-count derby of Beijing 2008 will boil down to China vs. the United States, but as usual, everybody’s wrong.
Neither China nor the United States has any chance at the top honor.
Oh, they’ll have their little scuffle in the lazy, uninformative, snobbish, egregious Medals Table all right. They’ll count up their raw numbers of medals and feign honor.
They just won’t even sniff contention in the diligent, rational, egalitarian, humble Medals Per Capita Table, the only table that reflects real national accomplishment. Refraining from the sloth of the horrendous Medals Table, the MPC Table actually sits down and does the math, with the help of that little calculator attainable from the bottom left corner of the laptop.
It divides national population by total medals, mindful of the inarguable fact that China, with 1.33 billion people, or the United States, with 303.8 million, should get more raw medals than, say, Australia, with 20.6 million.
Now, is either of those countries as studly as Australia?
Not a chance.
1. Australia (5 medals) - 4,120,171
2. Croatia (1 medal) - 4,491,543
3. Georgia (1 medal) - 4,630,841
4. Czech Republic (2 medals) - 5,110,456
5. The Netherlands (3 medals) - 5,548,438
6. Cuba (2 medals) - 5,711,976
7. North Korea (4 medals) - 5,869,772
8. South Korea (8 medals) - 6,154,106
9. Italy (8 medals) - 7,268,165
10. Azerbaijan (1 medal) - 8,177,717
Now then, is medals per capita a god thing, or a bad thing?

Re: What price an Olympic medal?
Something else to think about...
If we take the 'medals per capita' approach and refine it so that only those who are entitled to compete for that country (legal citizens) were counted then I reckon GB would shit over all the rest!
Probably 1 medal per 50 people or thereabouts...

Actually the medal count and efficiency things are just meaningless trivia. I just like to pull your chain.
