Bruce Jenner (or whatever) has been pathetically needy of public notice for a long time to the point that he even used his familial association with the (equally self-involved) Kardashians to get screen time. When people do degrading things for pathetic motives (like his prior plastic surgeries and this) it is just sad and I would rather not see any more of it. Bruce Jenner ( or whatever) can be personally objectionable because of his own individual choices to a reasonable person who has no dislike of transgender people, such as myself.
Once again I agree with rube...(this has happened a disturbing number of times recently... )
I've have several transgender friends, and hired a transgender person to work for me more than a decade ago.
I would be very happy to see Jenner shut up and go away....
In any event, rube and I and anyone else who wishes to participate in this discussion ought to be able to do so without having anyone who disagrees with us feeling the need to resort to melodramatic histrionics...
The thing that I find with the Jenner situation is how "in your face" the whole coverage is. One cannot browse through the news paper or any online news outlet without seeing how he/she is on the cover of some magazine, how he/she won some award from espn, how he/she is going to have his/her own reality show and how mch of an insperation he/she is to all, not just transgenders. The coverage is already tooooooo much.
Disclaimer I have no "known" homosexual friends and have only "knowingly" met one transgender person (when I was in the phsych ward after my suicide attempt).
Fine, you guys keep complaining about Caitlyn Jenner when there are so many other things you could be posting about - and I'll stay out of the thread and let you have your transphobic whine-fest. Happy? Good!
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
