I received 3 or 4 mailed samples of the Gillette Mach 3 (I still have 1 in its unopened package) when that one first came out—and they still work fine; I buy a package of the blade head cartridges only once every year or so, so I don't feel I'm generating all that much waste...and they do work better than single-blade or double-blade razors.

I havent noticed any improvement since 3 blades and the 5 blade is getting to be a little unwieldy.
