Not cricket
Re: Not cricket
Some majorly demented obsession on that site about the alleged Jewish hatred of whites.* Doesn't leave much to the imagination about the sort of follower they attract (hint - it begins with "N" and ends with "i" and has an "a" and a "z" in between)
*Apparently being Jewish and white are mutually exclusive. Who knew?

Re: Not cricket
Why would any woke person think that saying someone looks like a 15 yr old lesbian is a put down? What if he had said he looks like a 15 yr old heterosexual?‘I saw Broady’s new haircut for the first time today. Not sure about it. Thought he looked like a 15 yr old lesbian!’
Would that be an insult?
And don't ever call me an old man. That's geriatricist!
Re: Not cricket
Please remember to limit your use of the term "sir" in all correspondence.,
Eoin Morgan has dismissed controversy over tweets sent by him and Jos Buttler in 2017 and 2018 that appeared to mock common Indian use of English, insisting the problem is people “taking [them] out of context”.
The England and Wales Cricket Board is reportedly investigating the tweets, which notably overused the word “sir” for comedic effect. Asked how he has reflected on his own contribution to the issue of insensitive historical social media posts – after Ollie Robinson’s Test debut this month was overshadowed by the rediscovery of several problematic messages from nearly a decade ago – Morgan said: “I don’t really reflect on it a lot.
“If I call somebody ‘sir’ on social media, or anywhere around the world, it’s a sign of admiration and respect. If that’s taken out of context there’s nothing I can control or do about it. So I haven’t actually looked into it.”

Re: Not cricket
Methinks the problem lies with those who believe that using the word "sir" too often is somehow mocking persons from the Indian subcontinent.
They (apparently) are themselves making a racist-tinged generalization

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: Not cricket
First, we have aa statute of limitations for a reason. I'm surprised scooter does not know this.
Second. merely offensive speech is not illegal nor should it be punishable. Doing so just pushes it underground so that no one can see the extent of rot in the public consciousness. if someone has racist, sexist, anti-semitic beliefs their expression of same creates an opportunity to ask them to account for themselves and explain their reasoning. Punishing it just drives those beliefs underground where the penicillin of reason cannot reach it.
There is a ready fascism among the left and 'woke' just as prevalent as it is among the right.

The reasons for having a statute of limitations applies equally. Try and recall them.

Another victim of intolerance.
Mumford & Sons' lead guitarist has quit the band following backlash to a tweet supporting a right-wing author.
Winston Marshall took time away from the band earlier this year after describing conservative journalist Andy Ngo as a "brave man" for his book which claimed far-left activists had "radical plans to destroy democracy".
Winston said he regrets the distress to his bandmates caused by the tweet.
He blamed a "viral mob" for his decision to leave the band permanently.
"I could remain and continue to self-censor, but it will erode my sense of integrity," he wrote in a blog post.
"I failed to foresee that my commenting on a book critical of the far-left could be interpreted as approval of the equally abhorrent far-right."
"Nothing could be further from the truth," he says, adding that 13 members of his family were murdered in concentration camps during the Holocaust, in the Second World War.

Or you could remain and ignore the online noise, but that wouldn't allow you to play victim, would it?"I could remain and continue to self-censor, but it will erode my sense of integrity," he wrote in a blog post.
Oh dear, the horror, his politics were mislabelled, how could he ever be expected to cope with being terrorized thus?He said articles calling him right-wing are "libellous" and that his political views are somewhere between "centrist" and "liberal".
"Being labelled erroneously just goes to show how binary political discourse has become," he wrote.

Re: Not cricket
Let's see.
He puts out a tweet supporting a right wing provocateur (Andy Ngo) who is, by most accounts, a bit of a turd.
Other people disagree with this tweet and say so. AFAIK he did not get credible threats or suffer any actual violence.
He decides to quit his job. No-one fired him.
Now he's the victim?????? WTF??????

It's a good thing he didn't claim his band was more popular than Jesus. He might have felt the need to crucify himself.

Much as it pains me, I agree totally. What the left needs is to learn tolerance and learn that the public debate needs a range of ideas if we are to progress. This is just more neo-fascist thought police trying to shout down rather than reason with anyone one they don't agree with. Sickening.

Re: Not cricket
The England and Sussex bowler Ollie Robinson is free to resume playing cricket after being deemed to have served his suspension following an investigation into historical racist and sexist tweets.
The Cricket Discipline Commission announced he has been handed an eight-match ban, five of which are suspended for two years, for “a number of offensive tweets” between 2012 and 2014. However, the panel has taken into account Robinson’s suspension from the England team and two Vitality Blast matches, leaving Robinson free to play immediately, although he was also fined £3,200.
The 27-year-old had admitted breaching two ECB directives in relation to a number of offensive tweets posted when he was aged between 18 and 20. The tweets came to light on 2 June, the opening day of Robinson’s first Test match for England.
Robinson had withdrawn himself from selection for Sussex following the suspension imposed by the England team for the second Test against New Zealand.
According to a statement, the panel considered significant mitigation, including the time that had elapsed since the tweets were posted, and a number of personal references to show how Robinson is a different person now than when the tweets were sent.
