We're omnivores. That's what biology expects from us, and that's how we should eat. Each of us are equipped to make the choices to make that diet healthy -- its not always easy, but it is rather simple.
Processed foods, CAFOs, other "modern advances" really aren't helping. The Paleos, which is another form of cult, have some good ideas that don't have to be taken to the extremes they go to. Eat more fresh unprocessed food, chose grass-fed meats which have healthier fats and healthier fat ratios, eat some damn fish, eat fruits and veggies. Use dairy as a condiment (sad for us cheese lovers, but so it goes). Drink water and lots of it. Get off the sugar train. If you can do all that, you can eat beautiful amazing delicious food, stay healthy, and don't have to restort to any kind of extreme eating (which so very often backfires).
