Just the latest episode in the life of someone with an insatiable need for public attention. Sad for her that the only talent she ever had which deserved the respectful attention of the public was finished 40 years ago.

I don't think Bruce really wants to be a woman any more than he likes being in the Kardashian family; I think he wants public attention. He'd change into a marsupial or marry the bearded lady from a circus sideshow if it got him a cover.

I just feel sorry for him. I would like him to go away now and stop bothering us.

I was talking about a particular individual and the circumstances of that individuals life and said nothing about transgender people in general. I had an acquaintence (friend of a housemate) who is transgender dating back to 1977, I knew her when she went from male to female [names removed], and we had a technical presentation from a transgender person 2 years ago who was CTO of a startup trying to interest us in developing materials for them.

Actually, no - look at all the wrinkles and natural indentations showing around her face, neck, arms, elbows & legs. There's very little airbrushing evident at all - something VF acknowledges.

I have been around homosexuals and transgender people long enough to be able to see them as individuals and don't need to treat each one as if they represent the whole community. Perhaps it is because this is all new to you that you cannot do so.

They don't make me uncomfortable I admire the courage and grace of the ones I've known personally. They have a very difficult road to follow and not a lot of role models.

I had a transgender uncle and a gay uncle, way back before any of this was socially acceptable. I've seen the pain caused to people by marriages and children born of attempting to pass, and to the folks not allowed to be themselves because of judgmental assholes who don't want to deal with it.

Bruce Jenner (or whatever) has been pathetically needy of public notice for a long time to the point that he even used his familial association with the (equally self-involved) Kardashians to get screen time. When people do degrading things for pathetic motives (like his prior plastic surgeries and this) it is just sad and I would rather not see any more of it.
