Super slide

At 17 stories high and reaching speeds of 65mph, this extreme waterslide isn't for the faint-hearted.
The vertigo-inducing slide, which brave souls reach by climbing 264 steps, is set to be the tallest and fastest of its kind when it opens next year.

The slide, called 'Verrückt' (German for 'Insane') launches people down in four-person inflatable rafts at breakneck speed.

Designers who made the stomach-turning ride hope it will officially be crowned the tallest waterslide in the world when opens next summer.

Verrückt features a drop so steep it appears to plummet almost at a right angle.

Adrenaline junkies climb the huge number of steps before waiting at the top on a deck made from railroad tanker cars.

Its exact height has not yet been revealed, but it will have to be higher than 134.5ft to beat the current record of the 'Insano' slide in Fortaleza, Brazil.

It is thought that riders will plummet around 130ft before being rocketed up again another five storeys over a hump and down into the pool below.

Larry Pitcher, the park's director of marketing and sales, told The Kansas City Star: 'We have always been family friendly, but this will attract those adrenaline junkies who are always looking or that next biggest, coolest thrill.'

The rafts will drop more than 130ft before being sent up another five-storey tall hump and then down again into the pool.

You and your clothes could wind up in different time zones.

But it could be a fun ride. That 5 story bump in the middle seems interesting; I've been on a number of tall water slides, but never one with a second hill. I would think it could slow you down some and reduce the wedgie you get at the end. One would think engineers would be familiar with wedgies, so it makes sense to factor that in.

Count me in. :ok
and
You're in a raft, so I don't think wedgies will be a problem.

I may be able to keep my suit on, but I'm going to have to clean it and the raft after I shit myself on the 5 story drop.

Looks like fun, though.

Let me put it this way...

There's about as much chance of my sitting through a five day cricket match, as there is of my climbing on to that contraption...

Don't know about actually losing it, all one would have to do is reach in and pull it out of their butt...

You should give it a shot. What's the worse that can happen?
