Believed to be the only person in the UK still making wooden clogs by hand, Trevor Owen from Criccieth wants an apprentice to help to move his business to the next stage.
The shoemaker mainly provides footwear for the folk dancing scene, but he'd like to branch out into fashion wear if he can get help.
"I've worked with a local university graduate on her final catwalk show," he told Roy Noble on BBC Radio Wales.
"She came up with some designs which I made and they got worn on catwalks in Milan and New York."
Now Trevor needs an apprentice to help develop the business, but he's finding it hard to finance a trainee.
"All the schemes put forward by the Welsh Assembly and Westminster are part pay towards the apprentice's wages, to a maximum of 40%," Trevor explained.

"But until that apprentice is producing an item which can be sold, they're a cost, which puts an incredible strain on a small business."
Trevor is hoping to find a solution to this problem as he would love to pass on the craft of clog-making.

You know I'd love to get a pair of shoes custom made by a cobbler. (especially since my feet are almost a full size different)
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
