The place to eat
The place to eat
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: The place to eat
The question is whether you would really want to eat at one of these "best" restaurants. I know in this foody town, when they come out with this kind of list, they routinely ignore the restaurants that have been serving good food, satisfying a variety of customers and making a good living at it for decades. Instead, they focus on the trendy newcomers where you get art-on-a-plate for a princely sum and about 1/2 the calories a normal person would need to feel sated. It's not surprising that the survival rate for the "Best" restaurants is not all that great.

Beef tartar with live ants? I can take raw meat on a picnic far cheaper.
Seriously people pay good money for the strangest things.

I did as well, and while I enjoyed the meals, they were not the best meals I ever had (even in a restaurant).
Re: The place to eat
I can honestly say the meal we had in the "Fat Duck" was the best food I have ever eaten. Though the meal at "Dinner By Heston" was fantastic, there have been others which rivaled it.
