This makes me wonder if it's a blunder or are they torn asunder down under...?
Police confiscate weapons from ‘Pastafarian’

An Australian man says police confiscated four of his guns because he posed for his firearm licence photo with a colander on his head.

Guy Albon convinced the photographer that he was a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster so that he could wear the colander- a symbol of the satirical religious movement whose members refer to themselves as Pastafarians.

The 30-year-old said he exploited a law that allows headgear to be worn in photos.

‘The law stipulates you can have something on your head,’ he said.

‘You have to have your entire face uncovered and if the headgear is being worn it has to have some religious significance.

‘I thought ‘I’ve got this one in the bag’ – it was an absolute scream.’

But when Mr Albon submitted paperwork to have his licence status changed, police became worried he was mentally unstable.

Officers came to his home, where they seized two handguns and two rifles and ordered him to see a psychiatrist.

According to Mr Albon, the psychiatrist immediately declared him as sane and ‘laughed it off’.

And though the Pastafarian has agreed to have his gun licence photo retaken without the colander, he is going to try his luck with his driver’s licence.

‘What are they gonna do, come and take my car off me?’ he said.

That's funny...

The guy doesn't look like a competitive target shooter or a farmer...

Maybe a pot farmer...

He makes the look work.

I can see this catching on. You can tell a lot about someone by the way they wear their colander:

Image

A fitted colander says you care about style and always want to create a pleasing image for others to enjoy.

Image

A shiny colander worn at a rakish angle says that you're having a good time and want others to share that good time with you.

Image

This doesn't really illustrate anything except Red Skelton's nephew "Ruddy Skelton" showing off one of Red's lesser-known characters "Colander Cadoodlehopper".

Image

For the modern Marlene Dietrichs there is the mysterious half-mask version widely copied including for the "phantom of the opera". (orig. title; " phantom of the pasta")

Image

And for teens there is the ever-popular "I'm feeling a little shy today and just want to blend in and be a colander in the crowd".

Image

And finally from the latest licensing exam for hopeful psychiatrists there is the "spot the crazy person" question. Only a disturbed person would wear a colander the wrong way up.
