NETHERLANDS coach Louis van Gaal on Wednesday lashed out at the English Premier League's fifth place spot in the table. Van Gaal must now travel to Britain to lead his team in playing games he believes should have been scrapped years ago. “I think these matches should never be played. But we’ll just have to play” Van Gaal said.
“I said this 15 years ago. You shouldn’t have players play matches for fifth place because there’s only one prize that counts and that’s becoming champion.”
Van Gaal moves on from the World Cup to become Manchester United’s manager. — AF
