Due to poor planning on my wife's part when we were wrapping presents. I found out I was getting The Prisoner on DVD. Woot!

I have all I want for Christmas all ready.
I have my life (which I selfishly tried to take this past year)
I have my wife who is the single most caring and giving person I know
I have my children who are shaping up to be the adults I treid to teach them to be
and i have the rest of my family who have stood behind me in all my "stumbles" so much that I can never repay them for their support.
Yes, Christmas is a time of giving and reflection and I find good in all.
Merry Christmas.

We decided to forgo "commercial" Christmas this year. No gifts for each other, instead we did some tree names from various places and gave gifts at a nursing home where many are pretty overlooked.
It feels better than any other Christmas.

Oh dear. I got Hen a new set of wine glasses*, as a small additional gift yesterday as I keep breaking the fucking things when loading or unloading the dishwasher.
I told a work colleague, (forgetting she was a "flower hat**,) that; "I got them for the wife, as she tends to smash them when she falls over pissed most evenings."
I got a load of counselling for free, and AA leaflets, didn't have the heart to tell her.....
* Say nothing to Hen, ok?
** I miss Pexxa, love that expression.

Gob, I encourage you to share that counselling with and give those leaflets to Hen. Christmas and New Year are difficult for winos. It's important to confront those we love with the truth - there is no Santa Claus, the Prisoner is long past its sell-by date, and breaking glasses while falling down pissed can be very dangerous, especially to the skin.

We got what we asked for this year
Our toaster and iron packed up earlier in the year and we've been using the ones that we keep in the caravan (cheap, small and lightweight). So we asked the family to get us new ones - I even sent them links where to get them cheapest.
Sad I know, but I cant begin to explain how happy a new toaster and iron have made us.
Hubby got me a Kindle. I bought him a Gig T-shirt when we went to see Inspiral Carpets last week and a 2 Kilo tub of his favourite Jelly Belly Jelly Beans

Sorry O-n-W, I'm happy to send you a "Cornish Guilt" t-shirt if you are that desperate for one.

New Patagonia jacket which I wore for most of the holiday trip to Portland. Very cozy. Water 'resistant'. A hood to keep the cold wind off of my ears and the rain off my face. That nice Yvon Chouinard has made the world a better place.

Our trip, which was so much fun!
My Swede loves Patagonia, and its good stuff, although really designed for men - even the "women's" line doesn't work well on girls with curves. But it makes him happy soI get it for him. I prefer Columbia for myself.

Supporting Oregon industry is good too. Columbia makes very well-made jackets for cold and wet climes.
