The no cussing club
Changing the World One Word at a Time!
The words we use affect how we feel about ourselves, how others react to us and how others feel about themselves. Our words truly shape our world.
Thousands of people have taken this challenge and told us about the positive affect it has had in their lives.
Here is just one example:
A teenage girl wrote to us and said that she had been babysitting a little girl for over a year. She said that she used to cuss and use all kinds of bad language around the little girl all the time. One time she cussed directly at the little girl and made her cry. She said she felt very bad about it. Then she heard about the No Cussing Club on TV and came to this website and took the Challenge. She made an effort to stop cussing, especially around the little girl. She said she felt so much better about herself and was so glad to be part of a club where other people were making the same commitment.
She is right. It is easier when there are other people to support you, that's actually How It All Started!

What a horrible thing; I can understand why it's got you pissed off...

Sounds pretty inoffensive. Learning self-control and the appropriate use of language are good things.

I rarely curse.
"Son of a B^&*" is about as bad as I get.
I remember someone telling me that excesive cursing is a sign of a poor vocabulary.
Another four letter word that should be limited is "like". I hear young'uns (especially female young'uns) say "like" every other word out of their mouth.

Excessive cursing doesn't indicate a poor vocabulary, just a poor choice of intensifiers. The real problem is that over-use degrades the impact of a good expletive, so they should be used sparingly and only when nothing else will really do.

Upon further reflection, I've come to the conclusion that this is something that needs to be nipped in the bud...
Teenagers creating a "No Cussing Club"? Good Lord, what next?
A "Listen To Your Parents Club"? A "Do Your Chores Without Being Nagged Relentlessly Club"?
Where will the madness end?
