Get us coming and going
Now that the winter heating season is over (or, should be -- it snowed in western New York last night and supposed to be in the 30s here tonight), gas prices have mysteriously jumped upward. $2.15 two weeks ago, $2.35 last week, $2.45 today. freaking oil companies . . .

I always love the oil industry--in the winter they blame the increases them diverting production fuel oil (because of the increased demand) and to oxygenate gas/add alcohol. In the summer, they blame it on the demand for gas rising. but somehow it always goes up.

Well to be fair, it did go down quite a bit there for a short (and sweet) while.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

To be really fair, it's still down considerably over last year; but it's these incremental price increases that will bring it back up over time.
