BOSTON (WHDH) -
The FBI is investigating several threats made against international flights Monday, including one from Paris to Boston.

The Delta Airlines Flight 242 landed safely at Logan Airport. Passengers were greeted with extra security and fire crews standing by. The pilot told passengers a generalized threat was phoned in about numerous international flights, including theirs. Passengers were kept on the plane for an extra half hour while security sweeps were done.

"I'm scared and I'm glad I'm back in the U.S.," said one passenger who was on board the flight.

NBC News said a man called in threats against 10 flights Monday morning, claiming chemical weapons were on board the planes. One of the planes, an AirFrance flight, was escorted to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York by fighter jets. The FBI determined the threat was not credible, but security sweeps were done anyway.
Quite a reception at Logan - and took two hours to get off the plane, get our bags, and leave the airport. Alls well that ends well tho, and I am safely home.

You had lots of company....

Apparently somebody was very bored this morning:
FBI Looking Into Chemical Weapons Threat Against Planes

The FBI is looking into a series of threats phoned in Monday morning by a single person, claiming chemical weapons were aboard airplanes.

The threats are not deemed credible, but the information has been passed along to the airlines anyway, out of an abundance of caution.

The male caller made threats against at least 10 flights in a quick series of calls to local police around the country. All but three planes have landed with nothing of concern found.

Two military jets flew alongside an Air France flight into New York as a precaution, after U.S. officials had difficulty reaching Air France on what is Memorial Day in the U.S. and also a holiday in France — the day after Pentecost Sunday.

The tip was called in at 6:45 a.m. on an untraceable line and the caller did not identify himself, a senior federal official told ABC News. Two F-15 planes were scrambled and followed the plane into U.S. airspace, but they flew in a way so that the passengers and crew would not be able to see the military planes, sources said.

Two military jets flew alongside an Air France flight into New York as a precaution, after U.S. officials had difficulty reaching Air France on what is Memorial Day in the U.S. and also a holiday in France — the day after Pentecost Sunday, otherwise known as Whit Sunday.

Two F-15s escorted the plane to John F. Kennedy International Airport, and a security crew swept the plane on the ground. The plane was cleared.

A Newark bureau spokeswoman for the FBI also confirmed that there were threats made against Delta Airlines Flight 69 from London's Heathrow and United Airlines Flight 37 from Edinburgh Airport in Scotland. The flights were cleared, officials said.

A threat also turned up negative for a Delta flight from Paris to Logan Airport in Boston, authorities said.

Yes it looks like JFk, Newark, and Boston were all affected. Sad, really.

Security was abundant all over Paris, they are clearly still reeling from the Charlie massacres.

Rube- my ticket was Air France but they are Delta partners and Delta operated the flight (a fact not apparent from the ticketing). I have to say, it was a good and relatively comfortable flight which I didn't expect especially on a packed flight. The regular economy seats were fine, and the plane had nice updated technology (I watched three good movies in the time it took to come back). The crew was terrific (mix of American and French) and the food was French. Plus the wine - and they poured big glasses and gave you as many as you liked. All in all it was one of the more pleasant flying experiences I've had in a while. (Air France over was fine too - also a good crew and French food and wine, plus champagne - but an older less updated and less comfortable plane).

Wes, yes and no. You know what they say "once they've seen Paree...." Oh and the coyotes have decimated the skunk population here. Tasty coyote snacks.

I really hope they nail the asshole who made these calls...

I don't know what the federal penalty is for calling in a bomb threat against a commercial air flight, but whatever it is, he should be sentenced to the max for each call he made and then ordered to serve the sentences consecutively...

It's important to make an example of somebody who does this sort of thing.

oh well, just nature re balancing the food chain I guess....

I ve only seen one coyote in my life. it was bounding thru the parking lot of the steel plant I worked at in Hyannis which was located in the woods behind the airport, I guess it probably has been developed and the industrialial park all built up now, but maybe not, the steel shop folded after the dot com bust, so maybe the woods are still there....

anyway the coyote kind of bounced instead of running, it looked more like an antelope running than a dog....

Delmarva was apparently, from what I ve read, the last of the lower 48 states to get a coyote population, they had trouble getting here , what with all the I-95 traffic and all.... I haven t seen one here yet, but they are out there.... gonna be hard on the foxes... if the coyotes get too bad we can always bring back wolves....

I like a little danger in my natural world, it keeps us strong and smart. black bears keep swimming over and trying to re populate the eastern shore, but we just catch them and send them back to jersey or PA. we had one manatee that kept swimming up to the Chesapeake bay, but they would catch it saying it would not survive here, fly it back south, then it would swim back the next year and they d catch it again. idiots. probably died of exhaustion because of the authorities...

captain john smith saw manatees around here so they must have some history here. we had a couple dolphins swim up the Wicomico river to our Salisbury park during the herring run years ago. they were so worried about the poor "lost" dolphins that they beat them to death on the rocks in their attempt to catch and "save" them. poor guys were just eating herring and putting on a good show for the kids.

free willie!
