One to watch out for; Anthony Joshua

When Anthony Joshua, all 6ft 6in and almost 18st of him, is bearing down on you, you can't even see the sky, so good luck blowing any bubbles past him. Before their fight, Kevin Johnson, who had not been stopped in a 36-fight professional career and had even taken Vitali Klitschko the distance, called Joshua "a big baby" . Turns out, Kev, you won't like this baby when he's angry.
Joshua hit Johnson so hard the American veteran will be hearing lullabies for weeks. That's 13 wins out of 13 for the Londoner in the paid ranks, all of them inside three rounds. It is difficult to remember a more exciting prospect in the heavyweight division, from any country. It should be a rollicking ride.

damn. I watched til the 2nd knockdown. if that fight was straight up, the tall fellow looked very im pressive. the shorter guy had a great, looong jab, but it didn t tell the tall fella nuthin'. he could touch him and he was getting stung by the jab himself. and he couldn t bully the tall fella with his bulk and strength either.
the one guy looked like the fear of god was put into him from the opening staredown.
it would take someone like joe frazier or Tyson at his best to challenge that guy. he looked like he would have given Ali a hard time too.
that s all hyperbole, I only saw a few minutes of one fight, but he looked good.
it s funny, I was feeling kinda bad about even watching the fight and was gonna turn it off, then I saw that the tall guys robe said something, so I rewound it and it said, "never be ashamed of my faith in jesus " or something very close to that.
I m not gonna watch the end of the fight. I assume it went past the second knockdown....
....of course boxing matches are fixed sometimes too...

well, I watched the rest of the fight this morning, had a feeling that I should watch it for some reason. if you let it play til the end a clip comes up that says "all13 knockouts" I watched that too.
the thing that impressed me most was the guys self control and mercy. I know mercy is a strange thing to attribute to a boxer, but I saw it. in almost every instance, where the ref did not step in, he had the opportunity to hit his opponent 2-3 more times with devasting blows before they fell, instead he just let them fall. he did not stand over them, and glory in their defeat. he looked happy to win but not boastful or gloating.
he did not go any further than he needed to. very impressive man.

you are absolutely right meade.
I will say that when its done well, fighting, it has an exhilarating beauty to it. no drug can compare.
it always leads to misery tho, from what I ve seen anyway
