...are bullshit.

ok. pong gets in as a ground breaker. pretty lame but fun. pacman..., of course.

now, I was a game wizard, after dominating the pinball scene, during an era when each game cost a quarter. pong was the only home game I had until I got my son his sega, but I saw the originals at the convenience stores.

super Mario gets in, but donkeykong/congorilla does not? ridiculous. then they say italian bros first appeared in super Mario? lies!!!!!

and what about space invaders? the original convenience store sensation. we got an advance machine because we were right next to Parsons Amusements, one of the main video game companies that supplied the machines to the OC boardwalk. the owner used to give us the latest machines and get our input.

I can still hear the space invaders music. domp domp domp domp , domp domp domp domp....
simple and elegant.

doom , world of Warcraft and tetris round out the inaugural class. lame lame and lamer....

.

ah yes the sweet sound of poppin' a game still rings in my ears, and the three rapid pops of gettin' high score still resounds in the empty space between my ears....
