This picture is actually an optical illusion. The lake isn’t as shallow as it looks, but is actually a couple meters deep. Arnensee lake in Switzerland is one of those secret spots that you wish no one knew about. Romande Energie wishes no one knew about it, too, as they use it as a reservoir. This peaceful spot is perfect for a hike and picnic lunch, or a refreshing swim in its tranquil waters.

Anyway, that boat looks like it's floating in the air.

You ever see kitch-Iti-kipi? 40 feet deep and 45 degrees (Fahrenheit) year round.

One of the reasons I took up scuba diving was reading about wreck diving in the great lakes; they're cold (you'll usually need a dry suit) and can be deep enough to require mixed gas certification for many dives; but the water is supposedly crystal clear (100+ feet visibility) and the wreck in great shape because e of the cold. I still haven't gone, but plan to one day.

It's not so much the cold as the freshwater doesn't fit the wood. Temperature wise outside of Superior they're not that cold.

True, but I would think the cold would also discourage crap from growing on the wrecks, leaving them more pristine. One account I read said you could even read books left open in the wreck.

I always wanted to learn how to scuba dive.

You jump into water with a can of air on your back. That's pretty much it.

Well there is a little more but you can get certified in a couple hours. That's not the biggest problem the biggest problem is not only do you have to buy into the scuba lifestyle and all the toys that entails you also have

I do believe they have some scuba tours in Munising for the shipwrecks nearby (they have glass bottom boat tours too.)

I've never owned a boat, but I have heard the two greatest days in a boaters life is the day he buys the boat and the day he sells the boat.

I ing where I do I know a lot of people that are into the boating lifestyle and if you are going to go that it works. What most don't realize is it's not something you can do half way. You're either sle ding big bucks for a spot in a marina or big bucks on a house with a postage stamp sized lot on a canal. But if you're not going to be using it multiple times a week (especially round here where there isn't a year round boating season you're Pizzi g your money away.

Personally my always wanted to do thing is how to run/ work a sailboat. Maybe one of these years I'll charter one for a few weeks and learn that way.
