Sour grapes.

A bunch of grapes has sold for a record-breaking $11,000 (£8,500) in Japan, where fruit often commands high prices and social prestige.
A supermarket owner from western Japan walked away with 30 grapes, each worth about $360.
They were the first Ruby Romans - a super sweet grape variety grown in Ishikawa prefecture - of the season.
"We will display them at our store before giving our customers a sample taste," Takamaru Konishi said.
The Japanese are often willing to pay top-dollar for premium samples of fruit, sometimes with the intention of giving them as gifts to people perceived to be of higher status - for example, their boss at work.
A single apple can cost up to $3. And melons are sometimes sold for the equivalent price of a vintage wine.
Last year a pair of melons sold under the hammer for more than $12,000.
"I am so happy and I am honoured," Mr Konishi said.
"These are truly Ruby Roman gems."

She has a point. If you were wiser you would pay attention to it. Your posting style serially objectifies women's bodies. Now if you don't care what educated professional women think about that then well, just continue on. It's not like you'll ever be sensually attractive to any of them, so in material terms it is no real loss to you. You and Andrew Dice Clay can have your own aesthetic universe to inhabit.

I love the Japanese but god knows they are really a unique species of human.
On the other hand a fucked-up copy of a Sun studios recording of Elvis sells for 1000x as much as a far superior, and rarer, Louis Armstrong recording so who the hell are we to judge?

I don't mind the occasional well-placed, emphatic curse word. As for the use of "cunt" as a derogatory term, I don't like it, I believe it is sexist and demeaning, and I've protested that use several times here. Recall "I have a cunt, but that does not make me a cunt" and so forth.

I don't how Guin feels about this, but my two cents worth is that discourse and general conversation in this country has certainly gotten coarser over the past couple of generations, and this is just another sign of the general decline of gentility and decorum. Just look at some of the words that are now acceptable in print or on broadcast media, or the topics being discussed, or the products being advertised. While there are still some things that are considered 'taboo' — for example, we don't see "Trojan" ads showing a condom being unrolled onto an actual penis, or a "Tampax" ad showing a tampon being inserted in an actual vagina
(yet) — words like "bitches", "shit", "boobs", "tits", "fart", "piss", "pussy", "cock", "fuck", and countless others are now turning up almost everywhere ... news stories in respected journals like the NY Times and the WaPo, on broadcast news and entertainment shows, syndicated coloumns, anywhere one goes on the internet, and even in so-called "children's" books and movies.
Now, I'm not some sort of prude; one of my personal mottoes is "If prostitution is the oldest profession, then cursing has to be the oldest art". Nor am I going to say that all of the world's problems wouldn't exist if people were a little more genteel, discreet, and polite in their speech. But there are times and places where the coarser, more vulgar terminology just does not fit, is not necessary, nor is it wanted.

Not a fan, and I'm definitely not a prude, and clearly I don't mind cursing.
A friend recently sent an email to a bunch of us, referring to us as "bitches." I suggested that if she wanted a response, she should use a different form of address.

Or advancement. The frequency of use invariably causes an expression to lose its emotional power. People in the future will have heard them too often for them to be able to give offense.
