An 11-year-old girl selected for a wildcard spot in the Sydney International Women's Pro surfing event has used her newfound fame to make fun of her dad's weight.
Speaking on TODAY this morning, Sabre Norris was asked about her father's bronze medal-winning performance at the Olympics.
"My dad was an athlete. Now he's pretty fat," Sabre said to the delight of Karl Stefanovic.
Sabre went on to describe how her father had a propensity to eat two litres of ice-cream every night, but a diet of cucumbers means he lost more than 20kgs since Christmas.
Sabre is the youngest surfer to earn a wildcard spot at a professional Australian event, and is thrilled at the prospect of any prize money.
"Even if I get last, there's $250 prize money for last, and I'd really want to spend it on donuts," she said.
