EVERY year the Sydney Cricket Ground becomes a sea of pink on day three of the January test match as fans throw their support behind breast cancer victims and this year, even our boys and girls in blue will turn pink.
More than 100 NSW Police Officers tasked with patrolling the SCG on January 5, now affectionately known as Jane McGrath Day, will don specially made police-issued pink hats in support of the cause.
The officers have also agreed to generously donate their salaries for the day to the McGrath Foundation, which provides support for victims of breast cancer through the funding of McGrath Breast Care Nurses.

NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said the force was proud to help “make a real difference to communities”.
“There’s no greater gift anyone can give than to try to help someone who is in serious strife and to have the ability to help people through the breast care nurse arrangement is just fantastic,” Mr Scipione said.
“This is our chance as a police force to go from blue to pink for the day and it’s an opportunity to show out support to what is really a worthwhile foundation.”
