Hahahahahaha. On my way home tonight I texted the Swede to "call me." He did, of course.

Every time you mention "the Swede" I always remember Burt Lancaster's role:

The trick here in South Africa is to "miss call" people. That is, you get a call and the person hangs up before you can answer. That way, if you want to talk to them, you have to call them.
Why does this happen? Because with Pay-as-you-go phones (and there's a lot of those here owing to poverty, lack of other service, expense of contracts, etc,) the caller must pay for the call.
"Miss call" and you don't get charged. The person who calls you back gets the charge. I of course am on to this scam and promptly "miss call" the person who just "miss called" me.
And so it goes

We generally don't speak during the work day (although we text), but then chat on our respective rides home. I was letting him know I was in my car.
