The price of a pint

Deutsche Bank analysts collected data on the prices of various services for a recent report to clients. Among them, they included how much it costs to get a beer (500 mL or 1 pint) in a neighborhood pub in an expat area of a given city in 2017.
Beers are the cheapest in Prague ($1.30), Johannesburg ($1.70), and Lisbon, Portugal ($2.00). On the flip side, they are the most expensive in Oslo, Norway ($9.90), Singapore ($9.00), and Hong Kong ($7.70).
As for American cities, New York City was the most expensive, with beer costing $7.40 on average. Boston wasn't too far behind, at $7.20.

What's the price of a pint / glass / jug of beer where you guys are?
Here, local clubs, (normally RSL or Rugby clubs,) are schooners for $5.00 to $7.00, good pubs $12- $20 a pint for local craft beers

Wow spendy, but then they have a lot of taxes to pay so people only have to work 800 hours per year. Whether it is a brewpub or nice restaurant, a pint of craft beer runs $5-7, and is a dollar or two less if you go during the happy "hour" (3:00 to 6:00).

And the country with the highest beer consumption per capita is ....
Czech Republic! According to the Economist annual statistical report they are wayyyyy out in front of #2 and have been for as long as I've subscribed. Of course they drink that nasty pilsiner slop.
Norway has great beer but it is mind-numbingly expensive. When we were in Bergen a pint of craft beer was the equivalent of $20 US.

Back a few years ago when I was drinking, happy hour bass ale was $5 a pint. ($4 for a shot of JD).
Happily, I have no idea of the price now.
Ice Tea (not the Long Island type
) is usually $2.50-$3.00 with unlimited free refills.

My first legal pint in The Swan With Two Nicks, Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire (one of those lifetime events which is forever imprinted on your brain) on July 21, 1967 cost me elevenpence halfpenny (that's a shade under 5p in the old money or about a nickel at the then prevailing exchange rates). I shall be celebrating that event in a couple of months with what I can get here: maybe a can of Fullers London Pride or Speckled Hen which will probably cost me $2 for about half a UK pint. Perhaps I should run for President on a 'Make Beer Cheap Again' ticket.
