One of the world's rarest and most expensive single malt whiskies has gone on sale.
The Private Collection Glenlivet was matured for 70 years and just 40 decanters are going on the market for £30,000 each. The spirit went into its cask in 1943, when World War Two was at its height and whisky was scarce.

It would probably be very good, but I'd bet to my taste it wouldn't be all that much better than a 3000 pound (or even 300 pound) bottle.

What will be its defining note... the flavor of the single malt or the aroma of bank note ink?
As you all know I am an alcoholic. The day I am diagnosed 'terminal' I will start to experience all the wonderful beer, wines, and spirits that came onto the market since 1981. However, sipping a Private Collection Glenlivet (over glacier ice, of course) will not be in my plans. Damn, the price for that shit would kill me.
Cheers!
