When you are pushing up the Daisies How do you think the world will remember you? Maybe you won't be remembered?

I expect I will be remembered by those who love me and that is all anyone really can hope for. When my time comes I will be creamated and my remains will be scattered on the rail road tracks. If I could leave a legacy it would be that I had the ability to make people laugh and feel good about themselves. All my acomplishments in life would mean less than nothing compared to a single smile on a single face of a friend who remembered me.

Women will tear their clothes and put ashes on their heads and wail that I have been taken away from them forever. Bonfires will be set and a small tasteful mausoleum will be designed by Frank Gehry and constructed with a view of Monterey bay. One more day will be subtracted from the annual total of required work days. And three new species of beetles will be named for me. Really big nice shiny ones.

yrs,

I only wish for people to remember me as somebody who owed them a lot of money...

Maybe I won't, there are so many local Locas living la Vida.

If they find my body, I'll be just another Juanita Doe...

I've donated my body.

So for a little while there will be some pointing and laughing...

I hope a few will think, "hey, she took good care of me while I was sick." Little kids will remember what a "trip" I was.

Truly...as long as Liz remembers me as her husband & soul mate (that is not a figure of speech in her case), I don't really give a shit.

I want the boys to think of me, smile, and remember the great times we had together.

As the guy that tried his level best to fly below the radar and NOT BE REMEMBERED!

However. I suppose somebody is going to remember that!

I would guess given all that; my above average (Home Schooled) 5 children would probably give me credit for bringing them into the world. After that? Who gives a fuck? . . .

[ In fact; I think a couple of them are suing for paternity to make sure where their genius came from... ]

*sigh*

I remember my auntie as one of the dearest people in my life. She died when I was only 23 (she was only 42), but I still carry her in my heart always.

No wait, I lied.

The Seabee Museum asked for folk's donations and in return they'd get a brick laid at the new site with their name on it.

I went for it; I'll be mentioned there ...I guess, always. Kinda like the names on the Arizona and Vietnam Memorials; they were there; We dunna know who they were, but they were there.

Hoo'rah!

...I impact more people's lives being a blood donor, that's no BFD ;)

I donate plasma. Something about being CMV- they want plasma more than whole blood or plateletts.

Me too, CMV- that is; what a small world! ...but this area still wants the whole blood, lots of babies need donors for operations.

Which will be said with either a smile or a grimace.

As a person who improved things, and I've got the Commonwealth Medal to prove it.

I doubt I will be remembered as a modest person, though.

They tell me that my plasma is mostly used for premature babies.

Yup, they didn't tell you!?

We have the rarest blood in the world, because it is cleansed naturally of all infection and by-proteins of infection; hence the term 'Baby Donor*' used in connection with CMV negatives.

I call it my 'Mutant Super Power' - my high immunity in the face of common pathogens.

Premature and new born babies don't have an immunity built up yet, so they can't take regular blood transfusions from everyday donors. They have to have hyper-clean blood in order to thrive and survive.

Reminds me- I gotta go donate ...Now!

*As a Baby Donor in the South Bay Area, I usually get VIP status at the Red Cross; I walk in anytime of day and they clear the board for my donation- giving me head of the line privileges.
Do you want some juice? Cookie? Pillow? Back-rub? Facial with pedicure!? How about a feng-shui acupuncture with Aromatherapy!?
