Thanks for the support, Jim. I think you and I have the same view of freedom of the press and very nearly the same view of freedom of speech. I also think there is a wide range of issues on which we have dissimilar although compatible views, which is what gives me hope for the American experiment. Because frankly, there have been more than a few instances lately where I have despaired: it's just so disheartening to see the conservative party apparatus rejecting thoughtful (if fundamentally wrongheaded) policy in favor of brute tribalism in politics, but that's where we seem to be today.
