wesw, while there is no love lost between us (and I’ve no desire to warm the relationship), I do hope you are ok. You seem a fair bit stranger than usual lately. If you are struggling with your substance use patterns, you might send a PM to oldr seeking his support - I would guess he’d be happy to help.

I can't take credit for creating you. I may be the smartest guy here at Plan B, but there are limits to what I'm able to accomplish .... 8-)

The smartest joe guy maybe... :shrug
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Sometimes it's difficult being highly intelligent.

I can't remember who told me that

No. I exorcised my father's psychotic, fascist spirit, somewhat after giving up alcohol and the other drugs that were killing me back in '81.

I am not intentionally mean to anyone at this point, only factual and honest. Those with a modicum of self-introspection understand this. Those that don't make the most noise.

wesw, you should explore all your options... before it's too late. You don't need to be your own worst enemy. Even you are not beyond redemption -- close, but no quite.

Am I enjoying watching this self-destruct sequence tick down towards zero?

Too fucking right.

Do I feel the least bit sad or guilty about that?

Not in the fucking slightest.

I'm not too worried about what wesw is doing, or intends to do to himself, except from the viewpoint John Donne expressed in "No Man is an Island" ... "any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind."
I'm more concerned with what sort of collateral damage will occur and who will bear the brunt of it as it plays out.
