Every year . . .

Post by Long Run »

this is the day when you see it getting light at 6:30 and staying light until 6:30 and the angle of the sun during the day changes the light quality . . . and you know winter is coming to an end and spring is days away.

Not so fast, cupcake. We had 3 inches or so of snow today which has now changed over to a delightful freezing drizzle. Don't talk to me about spring.

Ah, can Autumn be far away?

What Sue said.  Spring may be a month away by the calendar, but the amount of snow we've already got on the ground around here (and more to come before the end of the weekend) can still make these next 30 days a real bitch.  And even when it starts to melt and run off, the slush, dirt, and other crap on the road that becomes exposed is a real downer too.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

The Sierra Ski resorts here in CALIFORNIA are talking of July 4th skiing.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Yes, but the dark days are over.

Wait until March 10th when we turn the clock ahead an hour and the sun is barely up at 7:00 AM again.

Yeah, that's right.  DST starts a little more than two weeks from today and runs to November 3rd.
Hmmm ... eight months of DST, and only four months of 'normal' time.  Something seems outta whack, but I just can't put my finger on it.
