The Queen has confirmed the dates and full itinerary for the celebrations to mark her Platinum Jubilee next summer, to be held over an extra four-day Bank Holiday.
Her Majesty will celebrate 70 years on the throne in June 2022 and the 'once-in-a-generation' occurrence will see Britain afforded an extra two days off work.
The monarch will be 96 by the time the landmark is reached, making her the first sovereign to reign for seven decades.
Buckingham Palace has now confirmed June 2-5 will see a series of events reflecting HM's time at the helm, after she succeeded her father to the throne in 1952 aged just 25.
She actually took over on February 6, but seeing as that was also the date of King George VI's death, she pushed the celebrations back to the summer.
Details announced include Trooping the Colour returning to London, royals attending the Epsom Derby and a music concert at the Palace.
There will also be The Big Jubilee Lunch and a pageant featuring over 5,000 people from across the UK and the Commonwealth.
A tweet put out by the official Royal Family account at around 10.15am today, said: "Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee from Thursday 2nd - Sunday 5th June 2022.
"The weekend will provide an opportunity for communities across the UK to come together to celebrate this historic milestone."
In a release, including, the full schedule of events, the Palace added: "There will be year-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world as communities and people come together to celebrate The Queen’s historic reign.
"Throughout the year, Her Majesty and Members of the Royal Family will travel around the country to undertake a variety of engagements to mark this historic occasion culminating with the focal point of the Platinum Jubilee Weekend in June - one year from today.
