When you say support... does than mean you watch on TV or actually go to games to watch them home or away?

I go to as many home and away games for Cardiff Blues as time and funds allow those I can't get to I watch on TV (long live Sky Sports, BBC Wales and S4C!) the only games for The Blues I haven't seen "live" this season are those which I couldn't get to or weren't televised and even those usually are covered in highlights on ScrumV.

Wales is usually TV based on cost and nothing more - we try and get to at least 1 International or 6 Nations game a year but at £70 a ticket plus parking & travel it's a hellishly expensive day out.

We're already budgeting for the new shirts for both Cardiff Blues & Wales which will be due out in the summer - thats going to set us back around £200 :o

I used to be a United season ticket holder but it doesn't seem worth it these days... what with the travel costs and what have you.

I try to get to home ganes for GC United but as most away games mean a round journey of thousands of kilometres the travel costs again become a bit prohibitive.

We have a similar problem - albeit the distances aren't quite as far but travel costs are awful (see UK petrol prices thread) plus we have a dog so whilst we can often make an "away game" in Wales because one of the mums will dog sit for us whilst we go to the game, it's not so easy to go to away games in England as we would need to impose on our son & his fiance who work and have a dog of their own. For us we also have to travel to "home games" because we live outside Wales so even a home game means 90 mins each way travel time & 180 mile round trip. Petrol usually costs us about £30 plus the bridge toll of £5.60 parking is usually £5 tickets £25 each add on the cost of a drink and something to eat and a program and theres another £12 total cost around £100 (152.83 US dollars 165.96 Australian dollars ). Sometimes the club will do promotions on tickets so that might bring the cost down by £30 but thats not often so we couldn't afford more than one live game a month and even thats pushing it and we kinda bank on one of the mums giving us petrol money for visiting them ;) When we move back to Wales we'll get season tickets and of course the travel costs will dissapear so we'll be able to go to a lot more "home games" as it is we average about 7 or 8 live games a season which I think is pretty good going.

Welsh Internationals are hiddeously expensive we'd have all the same travel costs but the ticket prices are between £65 - £85 each (thats assuming you can even get a ticket) so it's close on double the cost to see a live International - which is why we try to manage 1 game or in a very good year 2, we simply cannot afford any more than that without a lottery win.

Ah yes! My two favorite teams: the Boston Red Sox and whoever's playing (and preferrably beating) the Yankees!

I also realized I'm technically a fourth-generation fan. It just couldn't be helped.

Are you sure? Have you seen the Oilers play any actual hockey lately?

(Hey, the Flahrs barely squeaked into the playoffs, so I'm not accusing anyone of actually playing hockey.)

The Oilers played hockey this past season, they just played poorly! Can I assume Flahrs is meant to indicate Flyers? If so, good luck to them in the playoffs! I hate the Devils!

Now, back to my Oilers fan hidey hole... :dig
