Now I know why mom always insisted on clean underwear

Losing your shirt at an X-rated spelling bee
If you don’t know how to spell “bouillabaisse,” you might as well just take it all off now.

A dozen brave, exhibitionistic souls revisited their public school days and faced off against each other Thursday night at the Strip Spelling Bee at the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.

But there was more at stake than merely sitting down if your answer was wrong – you had to lose one-third of your clothes.

“People never have a chance to legitimately show their bodies off to people without seeming vain, so the appeal of this is they have a way to show off their bodies,” Strip Spelling Bee organizer and host Sherwin Tjia said.

“They have to, because they (messed) up a word.”

Here are the rules for the 12 contestants: If you spell a word wrong, you have to take off one-third of your clothes until you’re either in your undies or naked, whichever you’re most comfortable with. No booing because people are in a vulnerable state, and no taking photos.

There are usually three rounds (no one has any clothes left after that, Tjia claims) and if there are still contestants with clothes on, there is a “spell-off” where you take turns spelling the same word without stripping.
I love living in Toronto. Just when you think you've discovered all of its quirky charm, someone pulls off something like this.

Sounds like a hoot, where do I sign up?

Bagsie not me.

I prefer a competition where I have a chance of winning. Spelling would not be that competition.
Bah!
