Aussie Evans going to finally take home a Tour win?

I've always liked Cadel Evans and he appears to be the favorite right now to win the Tour, after years of promise and then coming up short. He looked better than I've ever seen him in the mountains the last two days, and should pass the two brothers Schleck tomorrow in the time trial (though that is not a sure thing given Andy's improvements over the last couple of years). Is Cadel getting good press at home?

Don't count out Andy yet! 57 seconds is a decent lead, but agreed, it is no sure thing especially when the TT is an individual event and he doesn't have Frank's wheel to pull him along.
Honestly, if it was both Schlecks and Evans on the podium on Sunday, I'd be perfectly happy. Frank has been an (unsung) hero throughout.

Cadel Evans? If there's a more Welsh name than that I've yet to hear it!!
Evans inherited his surname from his great-grandfather who hailed from Wales, and his first name is also of Welsh origin ('Cadell' being the name of three Welsh kings)

Yes, yes, yes. But he is an Aussie.
You have lived here for almost nine years, are you yet to work out that we come from everywhere to here?
Don't make me get out of bed and smack you!

LOL Hen. You may take the man out of Wales, but you will never change his world view, eh?
BTW, there is an actual Welsh rider in le Tour -- Geraint Thomas --- a good young rider, who has been in contention for the white jersey (best young rider (under 26 years old)). He rides for Team Sky.

Guin, as soon as Gob sees a bit of melted cheese, he thinks it might be a Welsh Rarebit.
I've tried telling him that sometimes melted cheese is just melted cheese and sometimes it's Croque Monsieur. But does he listen? He does not.

Also living away from where I grew up (and loving it), I do think that the lens changes. You never know what it is that is going to trigger one of those deep "home" memories.
Congrats to Cadel! I hear there is a movement afoot to declare a national holiday in Oz after this win!

And leading Cadel Evans onto the Champs-Elysees: his teammate, American George Hincapie, who has completed a record-tying 16 Tours, and been involved in 9 wins!
