Karmatic Konverter

Day before yesterday:

After work, I approached the light rail train ticket kiosk, ten-dollar bill in hand. The damn thing gives change up to $20's, but it's always in those 'Sack-O-shit-gawea' dollar coins, that fail to circulate, every year. None the less, I had to take public transportation home, and fed the machine, my money.
You get the paper ticket first, and the paux-gold coins fall next: clink-clink-clink-clink-clink-clink...

Wait, for it...

Wait...

?

Where's the rest of it? A one way pass is $2, and these were only six ducats, dammit! [Jingle, check again] Nope, only six bucks in my palm, I'd been robbed; this was highway train robbery! I should know: my Mexican Bandito Great-Grandpapa had perfected the sport!
Now, you bet your ass, I called the customer service number on the booth and reported the discrepency; two bucks is a lot of money to me.

I'd been so poor lately this past month, I'd been sneaking onboard a few times or so for FREE; that is without paying the fare. ...AND that's taking quite a risk, these days, as San Ho is so strapped, they don't cut you a break. It's do the crime, and pay the fine -to the tune of ~$200-! ...and they want to catch you for the Ka-ching! More money in the kitty!

The other day, I boarded the train; stowed my bike, and had an inspector shove old folks, wheelchairs and small children outta they way, so they could ask me for my ticket. Fortunately, at that time, I had paid my way and had the stub to prove it. ~whew~

So, the next day, while I'm acting all indignant, and complaining to anyone within ear-shot, about my predicament, my co-worker pipes up with the obvious,

'Serves you right!'

They're getting you back for all the rides, you stole.

:oops:

Ah shit, karma bit me in the ass; didn't it? I'm lucky to be charged only $2 bucks more, and not $200; thX KarMA kINGS! You rock, your majesties!

No really, thX! :ok Instant karma, ganna get 'cha.

You need a budget, lo. You cried poverty when you worked at Home Depot & had no roomie; now you have a roomie and by your own accounting a great welding job, but you're breaking the law because you can't afford mass transit? Unwise, given the potential fines.

Try cutting back on your discretionary beverage expenditures.

Yup, that's what I said; that I was dodging fines, thX for noticing.

Also notice:

I didn't have to use mass transit before, just my bike at zero expense, other than calories, and now I have to pay fare- meaning an added monthly expense;

I had two [adult] roomies two years ago, and now I have one;

That my great job, is now through a job placement agency, which pays you less; [Yes, I may very well be Lead Welder, this summer. That is almost likely, but it's at a rate far below but what used to be considered standard.]

At least, I dodged, weaved and budgeted well enough, not to declare bankruptcy, and just rode the swells ...which reminds me, I should update you folks on my Welder World, before this vague speculation gets outta hand, and folks assume before asking, again. ;) 8-)

Assume before asking? You just admitted to being a thief, what's to assume?

Yeah, ok, just confusing. You were staying afloat with no roomies and a part time job at HD; now you have a better paying job and a roomie and can't afford the transit?

Just doesn't compute with me. But, at least since you are too poor to comply with the law regularly we shouldn't have to endure any more whinging about not being 'allowed' to contribute to charities or costs of running Plan B. ;)

That it was because of my discretionary spending. (What discretionary spending? I need new trends, and can't buy'em)

Why assume, anywayZ? Why not ask?

Okay, I'm going to ask something....
I need new trends,
What are trends?

Well, that's just twisting, I didn't say no roomies, I said half of what I had before;

I didn't say a better paying job; I said the position was better.

Whatever level of poverty, I'm at; I should be compassionate to those worse off;
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
...it's the right thing to do.

So is paying for the services you use.

I need to work to pay; if I can't travel, I can't work. So, I finagle the travel. To work, to pay off the karma, ya dig?

It was just one month.

I recall you saying better paying. If you're making less welding than you were at HD, something's not right.

And again, back when you were PMing me in detail about your financial woes, you had no roommates. Having at least one should have you in a better, not worse position - isn't that a no brainer?

Check out CCCS; they're great at helping folks to budget and it's a nonprofit so the service is free. Here's a link with their local info:

~Heh, No, I'm making more at than at HD, but I have fewer roomies than two years ago ...about when I stopped PMing you. No brainer is correct, but not mine.

When we were PMing and IMing, you had NO human roomies, loCA - just free rider bunnies. I was paying attention, really.

Going from paying all the mortgage/utilities to half should be saving you tons. If you aren't splitting those two costs with the roomie who also has kids and cats living with you, that's just foolish. You should find another roomie who pays better.

Um, then that was over two years ago, and has no relevance now.
FYI Landlord/ladyship doesn't mean you pay only half of your expenses: try it sometime, then judge. ...and there ain't any cats anymore.

You gonna ask me the reality, or continue to assume?

The reality is that you are a thief. We already established that.

Um yea, I admitted that as per the OP- thus the karma, dude. shesh :roll:

Your point in personal revelation of the OP? ....is what?

Okay, you finally got it. Cool for you. ...?

Just stating the "reality". Isn't that what you just said you were interested in?
