...that I'm not totally ripping off; go here
I so live this:
For a while, I considered throwing water balloons to get the drivers' attention, and then I discovered these;

... El Cheapo Dollar Tree air horns, small enough to zip tie to my handle bars; loud enough to stop traffic at busy intersections and long-lasting enough, that the first one I bought in January is still blowing strong!
They're only a buck! Living up the name of store- Dollar Tree, duh.
That sure as hell, beats the price of a cycle-shop horn that goes for $29.99, or more!
Along with saving my sorry ass in the street, it's started a trend in the shop; with everybody buying one now. Some getting them for safety, some for pranks
Now-a-days, the break time signal is a blast from a mini-horn
I so live this:
I admit that sometimes I get frustrated with biking in the city. There are days that bring out my inner curmudgeon and I feel like this guy:
But try not to put negativity out there. I don’t want a fight. So I try to stay positive. Sometimes I’m so positive it freaks the shit out of drivers. Like when a driver doesn’t see me and is about to left hook me…
When I wave to them all smiley they really don’t know what to make of it. They just look surprised and let me pass safely.
Try it sometime. Or feel free to experiment with your own positive reinforcement approach.
Well, maybe not this approach.
