True. Men and women check out asses, even if they aren't attractive.

Maybe if the girls were carrying on and showing off and teasing around a bit, the people were just looking back at them generally (not just at their asses ... which really didn't look that spectacular from what they showed - admittedly what they showed was minimal, and maybe they really have spectacular second-view worthy asses. But it didn't look like it).
Or maybe people were looking at the camera and wondering why it was there?
People do tend to look back at those who are being exhibitionists or otherwise drawing attention to themselves.
