Just back from walking the dogs, beautiful sunny day with enough cloud about to make for an interesting morning's photography.

Five day test just starting on TV.

22 litres of home brew just ready to be bottled.

Another dog walk this after noon.

Fish and chips for supper tonight.

Only bad thing about it is Hen is in work today.

If you're planning on watching a five day cricket match, instead of brewing beer, shouldn't you be cooking meth? :P

Gob, you could save a lot of finger action and bandwidth if you only post about your days 'on'.....

It's a buffet
Lunch report: roast beef, pasta, roast veges, salad and a Magnum. A very solid start from the caterers, if not the Aussie bowlers.

You didn't ask about "drinks" or "tea" so I shall not tell you :ok

That sounds like a hearty repast Gen'l...

And given what they're doing after lunch, it's not like they have to worry about being slow or sluggish....even if some of them should doze off, nobody's likely to notice....

Never mind the cynics Gob, it sounds like a day well spent if you ended up with a fridge looking like that!

Thanks L-R, (Though that's my beer cellar*, not my fridge.)

Day two coming up, and the Boers have Aus in all sorts of trouble.
An unbroken century stand between Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis put South Africa in charge of the first Test against Australia in Brisbane.

Amla and Kallis made 90 and 84 not out respectively as the tourists, who chose to bat, closed day one on 255-2.

The only wickets to fall were captain Graeme Smith, lbw for 10, and Alviro Peterson, caught at mid-on off spinner Nathan Lyon for 65.

Seamer Peter Siddle dropped a return chance offered by Amla late on

*It's our airing cupboard actually.

Don't expect too much cricket today mate, it's a bit rainy up here...

I'm very happy to see it though... I was only about a week away from having to buy in water!

Ah well, if it works for you I'm good with it, I'll sacrifice me cricket.

I watched the highlights yesterday (owing to the extremely ridiculous time difference in Oz - very poorly managed that). It will be a lot easier for the Proteas if they continue to have so many Australians playing for them as well - balls dropping, no-balls on easy outs and so on. Very nice caps though - they all look like Don Bradman even while playing like Jan Brady

So far, so good. Shame about JP stepping on a football though (idiot!)

Lets get to the important stuff - what kind of beer?

I had a lovely pear cider with my sushi last night.
