Time to mourn, then time to take in another. There are others that need love too.

After the humans are done needing my help, i am thinking of volunteering at an animal shelter one day a weekend. Of course I could only volly for dogs as I am not a cat lover. I'll feed them but am not comfortable interacting with cats as much as I am with dogs. And that would deprive them of the needed companionship these animals crave. When I was fixing washers and dryers I was able to calm and interact with snarling pit bulls so maybe dogs just like me.
