About the get the crap beat out of us again -- huge offshore storm (Saturn) causing crazy 30-foot waves, storm surges, 50mph+ winds, and serious coastal flooding. It's just getting going, and there may be 3-10 inches of snow as well.

Someone, please take the bullseye off of our back!

It reminds me of what I told Tati a couple of years ago, when we were sitting out on the beach and a bunch of tour buses showed up...

"Sweetheart, those folks have come from places like Ohio, and Indiana and Kansas...
and they've spent a lot of time in airports, and staying in hotels, and spending a lot of money to get here...

And then after all of that, they had to ride in a big smelly bus just to get out to here...

Just to have the chance to see what we get to enjoy every day, just by taking a short walk from our house..."

Tourists - they'll go anywhere

We have heavy winds (40+ mph) and some coastal flooding. Hope the people hit by Sandy don't get hit again. The snow is pretty much non existant. Just some wet slush on the ground this morning although this storm is supposed to last until some time tomorrow morning/afternoon so we'll see how it plays out.

Still, flooding so far, relatively "minor" and less than during Nemo. However, the worst is yet to come.

Can it be summer yet, please!

After living my whole life in New England...west Texas is sounding better by the day. I'd rather work a 14-hour day in the rain than go to the beach.

Southern RI now: non-event. We got a dusting of snow, a bit of sleet...now it's just windy.

This is a long-duration event Jarl, we've got at least another 24 hours to go, and the coldest, windiest, snowiest piece still to come.

I can't think you'd see much of anything in West Texas, except emptiness -- which is, I am sure, why Jarl wants to go there.

Raining with some flurries is all that is happening here in Westbury LI. Even the wind has died down. 24 hours to go and we'll be in the clear.

I can get 10 acres for less than 0.2 acres here, everything is cheaper, no snow, no humidity, no 2-year (and counting) wait for a damned pistol permit...works for me.

Okay Jarl, I know you hate Christmas, (to the point apparently that you tell folks who are thinking about sending you presents that you'll throw them in the garbage) and maybe puppies and kittens too...

But the beach? Really dude? Seriously?

How can anybody hate being at the beach?

I'm at a loss for words...(there's a reason the phrase "a day at the beach" was invented to describe a condition of carefree peacefulness... )

If I may be serious for a moment....

Jarl, you seem like a very decent guy with a lot of integrity, but you also seem to be carrying around a big load of unresolved angst and pain...

It's your own business, but if it were me, I'd want to do something about that...

Life's too short to spend a huge proportion of it being miserable.

Sharks love the beach...
