..... Brahms and I got married :D I was going to say that I didn't feel 30 years older, but thinking about it, I actually do  For some reason the 30 milestone strikes me as being more of a big deal than our Silver anniversary did :shrug

Brahms got me this: http://www.clogau.co.uk/jewellery/item/ ... -3S737BR02
Clogau Gold is proud to introduce the 737 Challenge collection in support of Richard Parks' 737 Challenge - a gripping 7 month expedition to climb the 7 Summits, on each of the world's continents, and venture to The South Pole and Geographic North Pole.

This friendship bracelet represents tenacity - one of the three most important traits to possess during the 737 Challenge, and life. The black leather cord holds a rose gold tab, inscribed with the words 'The horizon is only the limit of our sight' providing lasting inspiration to the wearer. The bracelet is sizeable by using the sterling silver adjuster and contains a touch of rare Welsh gold.

20% of all sales of the 737 Challenge collection will be donated to the 737 Challenge which aims to raise £1million for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Its gorgeous and something that I can wear pretty much everyday I've been fancying it for ages :D

In return I got him his favorite Penderyn Whisky and we're going out for a meal on Thursday haven't yet decided on whether its to be Nando's (my favorite place to eat) or http://www.jrc-globalbuffet.com/cardiff I suspect it'll be Nando's and a walk along the Bay afterwards simply because I have yet to pass up the chance to eat at Nandos lol

Congrats RB, the bracelet is lovely.

Cookie and I just spent our second anniversary on opposite sides of the world, but he did buy me the eternity ring I've been pecking his head about to make up for it.

We'll be celebrating our 14th anniversary in June...

But I have no doubt that we'll also be celebrating a 30th and a 50th, since I've decided to Just Say No to that whole dying thing....

What is the significance of the number 737?

I would think that the Marie Curie cancer cure would be "don't put vials of concentrated radium in your labcoat pocket".

7 Summits 3 Poles 7 Months ... A pioneering 7 month race to climb the highest mountain on each of the world's continents and venture to The South and Geographical North Poles.

http://www.737challenge.com/
Richard Parks, the former Welsh International and Barbarian flanker, was forced to retire from professional rugby due to a career ending shoulder injury in May 2009. After a period of contemplation, he decided that he was going to confront his fears and unanswered questions by creating The 737 Challenge.

In December 2010 Richard started the unique, multi discipline 737 Challenge. A gripping 7 month expedition to climb the 7 Summits, which are the highest mountain on each of the world's continents, and venture the last degree to The South Pole and Geographic North Pole. All against a 7 month clock!

When successful Richard will become the first ever person to stand on the continental summits and all 3 poles (The South Pole, The Geographic North Pole and the summit of Everest) in the same calendar year and set a new benchmark in the climbing of the 7 Summits.

7 summits, 3 poles, in 7 months. A world first.
Richard completed the challenge in 6 months 11 days his aim is to raise £1 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care - so far he's raised over £250k and I suspect that we're soon to get an announcement on that total having risen a good bit more.

Well that's a noble effort indeed - well doone Richard.

But 737 is counting the summit of Everest twice - really it should be 727.

Jus' sayin'

Meade

(and not to encourage anything but, funny post rube)

Okay, well now that is genuinely impressive...

(Unlike that silly business about the guy kicking a lucky goal shot...)
