One cannot serve God and mammon.
I suggest you do more research.

Lies? I think it's more like he says things that reflect belief in the Bible and make people uncomfortable because they are politically incorrect.
Generically, let us say that he says active homosexuals are sinners, i.e., bad people, destined to suffer in hell.
There is nothing remarkable about this, as it reflects accurately the beliefs of most Bible-believing Christians. But I suspect it would be used to flame him rather seriously.

Re: Pat Roberson’s 700 Club
Well, I guess like the "true Scottsman", one could define "bible believing Christians" to include whatever subset of Christians you wanted, but before you make such a sweeping statement, I think you should attempt to define what marrow subset of christianity you are including in that subset.it reflects accurately the beliefs of most Bible-believing Christians
Re: Pat Roberson’s 700 Club
I would say most Southern Baptist, Pentecostals, Catholics and Church of God for sure and probably more that escape me at the moment.Big RR wrote:Well, I guess like the "true Scottsman", one could define "bible believing Christians" to include whatever subset of Christians you wanted, but before you make such a sweeping statement, I think you should attempt to define what marrow subset of christianity you are including in that subset.it reflects accurately the beliefs of most Bible-believing Christians
Sorry I can’t change what is in the Bible.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.
Re: Pat Roberson’s 700 Club
Skin Heads hate Homsexuals, they ain't Christian...
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is
Re: Pat Roberson’s 700 Club
Well lib, I'm not a Liberal, but this kinda jumped out at me:As active as Pat is and how much liberal hate Christian conservatives they should be able to catch him in a couple of blatant lies.
Seems to me there are only two possibilities here....On televangelist Benny Hinn's "This Is Your Day" program (as aired October 31, 2012 on the TBN network), Hinn conducted a 30-minute interview with fellow televangelist Pat Robertson. At the 10:47 mark, the following exchange takes place:
Pat Robertson: "He's gonna win. Romney will win the election."
Benny Hinn: "What makes you believe that?"
Pat Robertson: "Because The Lord told me."
Either Robertson lied about being told by God that Romney was going to win ....
Or God lied to Robertson...
Personally, I'm going with the former...

Re: Pat Roberson’s 700 Club
I don’t see how someone could be motivated by hate and be a Christian.Rick wrote:Skin Heads hate Homsexuals, they ain't Christian...

Re: Pat Roberson’s 700 Club
Now that I think about it, there is a third possibility re the "The Lord told me Romney is going to win" thing....
Robertson could be an un-medicated schizophrenic, who mistook a voice in his head for God talking to him...
In which case he wouldn't have been "lying"...Just mistaken...
However if that's the explanation, I'm not sure I'd want to contribute to a charity run by an un-medicated schizophrenic....

Or he could have just been wrong assuming the report is correct, Just because one believes, feels or thinks something doesn’t mean it is. For one to tell a lie one must know that what he is saying is not so.Lord Jim wrote:Now that I think about it, there is a third possibility re the "The Lord told me Romney is going to win" thing....

Exactly. For one to tell a lie one must know that what he is saying in not so.
That's where the schizophrenic hearing voices explanation comes in.

The words were hardly the first controversial he has uttered - newspapers have repeated many of the quotations attributed to him, including one which was in a Christian Coalition letter which he signed but did not write and had not, he says, read very carefully.
"The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women, It is about a socialist anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practise witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians," the letter read.

That's too wordy for a bumper sticker.
