One of the humans running for Attorney General for Pennsylvania proudly announces he will bring criminal charges against certain corporations. That has been done and only brings fines, which are passed on to customers as part of the cost of doing business. I have never heard of 'jailing' the corporation by yanking their license to do business while the company serves its time--or perhaps releases product for free for a time of community service.

If you believe that reducing/eliminating corporate taxes will lower the prices paid by consumers, there's a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to interest you in buying.

Not the right to a belief but the right to enforce the practice of that belief on others.

A lot of hard leftists dating back to the 1970s suggested that it would make more sense to eliminate corporate taxes altogether and make up the shortfall with higher personal, capital gains, inheritance, or VAT.

They have a good point. Corporate taxes in the US are more threat than reality, the actual rate is very low, the lowest in the G-20 (as opposed to the nominal or "fantasy" rate which is higher).

You're right though, they charge what the traffic will bear. But they will do so with a VAT as well.
