I played Santa one christmas in a mall shortly after I got out of college, ad recall a number of the 20 something girls coming up, sitting on my lap, and flirting (I guess everyone just thinks Santa's an old guy); I used to tell them watch out or I'd visit them on the 26th, when Santa visits all the "bad girls", and it always got a laugh--never would have said it to a kid and never meant anything about kids. IMHO, people are just too sensitive and look for something to get upset about; Scooter, based on the story, did you really think there was any pedophile undertones? Why?

I don't think he intended it that way. But I think it was pretty stupid for someone doing the job he was doing to be saying stuff like that publicly and not recognize the obvious implications.

Ok, so how much complaining should there be needed before something like Santa is removed? Is one complaint enough to outwiegh all the joy that this man has given?

And, more to the point, has society become to wary of ANYTHING which may give offense, to the point where a miniscule level of complaint results in consequences which far outreach the offense?

Is complaint out of control?

If I type "teh" just once more I'm going to cut ALL my fingers off.

I used to don the Santa garb and deliver flowers. For Seven years I delivered to homes, hospitals and nursing homes. Kids of all ages, 2 to 92, were excited to see me. Only once did I find myself in a possible embarrising situation. A 19 year old young woman was receiving a bunch of balloons for her birthday. After I entered the home her mother called her and she arrived wearing a towel and brushing her teeth. Her mother wanted to get a picture of her sitting on Santa's lap. I declined as I was reasonably certain that when she would have counted to 3 to snap the pic that towel was coming off. As It was a small town and everyone knows everyone I opted to decline the offer. :nana
Lucky they didn't complain Miles, you might have been fired for NOT being a dirty ol' Santa. ;)

Well the woman I worked for would have shot me if a picture of her Santa with a naked girl on his lap showed up. Not to mention my wifes reaction.

I love that movie...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
