Re: Suspicious..
M!
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

A Midsummer Nights Dream...
She played Titania...
You know Sue, I've been meaning to post that pic in this thread...
When I was in high school, we saw that movie version with her in my AP English class...(needless to say we very mature High School Junior boys found the fact that they were showing a movie with a lady with her titties out in class very amusing)
(I actually played Lysander in our school's production of the play...)
It wasn't until just a couple of years ago when I was reading up on Dench online that I realized that was her...
ETA:
Note to Maggie Arglestrope:
No, there was not a lady with her titties out sitting in the classroom watching the movie....
(Just thought I'd clear that up for you; I know how confused you can get about these things...

Re: Suspicious..
This production of Midsummer Night's Dream was, I think, the first Shakespeare play I ever saw and it remains my favorite play today. Apart from being incredibly trippy and surreal, it had an amazing cast, including not only Judi Dench (and her sister and niece) but also Helen Mirren, Ian Holm (as a hilarious and totally demented Puck), Ian Richardson, Diana Rigg and, as it turns out, Barbara Jefford, who is in Philomena as Sister Hildegarde.
GAH!
Re: Suspicious..
Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure I saw it as well (possibly on public TV); I never knew Judi Dench was in that role, but I do recall Ian Holm.

Yes, you saw it on PBS, as did I.

Nope, according to Wikipedia, we're both misremembering that:

In the U.S., it was sold directly to television rather than playing in theatres, and premiered as a Sunday evening special, on the night of February 9, 1969. It was shown on CBS (with commercials)
