Re: A good catholic education.
why so serious?
Re: A good catholic education.
Seriously, don't take his being dead personally.
Re: A good catholic education.
I'm not sure, why Einstein would be considered 'snotty' there; here's other quotes of his like that;
Other variants on Wiki regarding the KISS - Keep it simple, Stupid! Principle
■“Most of the fundamental ideas of science are essentially simple, and may, as a rule, be expressed in language comprehensible to everyone.” – Albert Einstein
■“The only real valuable thing is intuition.” – Albert Einstein
■“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.” – Albert Einstein
The principle most likely finds its origins in similar concepts, such as Occam's razor, and Albert Einstein's maxim that "everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler".[5] Leonardo da Vinci's "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication", Mies Van Der Rohe's "Less is more", or Antoine de Saint Exupéry's "It seems that perfection is reached not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away". Colin Chapman, the founder of Lotus Cars, urged his designers to "Simplify, and add lightness". Rube Goldberg's machines, intentionally overly-complex solutions to simple tasks or problems, are humorous examples of "non-KISS" solutions.

I don't think Einstein was snotty. I do think the posting of the meme was snotty.loCAtek wrote:I'm not sure, why Einstein would be considered 'snotty' there; here's other quotes of his like that;
I am not sure that going down the route of re-explaining indoctrination will assist in this thread.
On a related note to this thread, the Hatch is completing her two year course on the Theory of Knowledge for her IB College requirements. This course focuses on core issues of all major religions. She has enjoyed it thoroughly.
If after this study she was necklines to delve more deeply in any of the faiths that were of interest to her, I wouldn't stop her.
Bah!

Re: A good catholic education.
Well then Hen, as I understand it, your daughter will have been indoctrinated.
As CP said, What school isn't [doing it]?

Re: A good catholic education.
Well then lo, if that's what you think amounts to indoctrination you have no idea what you are talking about.
Why not try google or wikipedia?

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
Re: A good catholic education.
Or a dictionary.
Or going back to primary school.

Re: A good catholic education.
A person critically studying the major differences and similarities between major religions is not indoctrination.
Before you bring Albert out for another visit, perhaps you should check Dictionary.com?

Re: A good catholic education.
So, the myth that if you have an interest in religion/philosophy /faith, then you're been indoctrinated; is busted?
ThX for admitting that, guys.

Re: A good catholic education.
What?
Can I refer you to Albert's words. I don't understand what point you think you have made.
Please explain in simple terms Lo.

Re: A good catholic education.
My daughter has undergone no religious teaching in her formative years whatsoever. She is now completing a course where she has critically examined various religions.
How does that bust anything?

Re: A good catholic education.
It's obviously Lo's new attention gaining technique, playing stupid to get people to correct her.
