The problem with that scene is that the bees would not have been interested in stinging him at all. They might have flown around his face and been a little confused about why they were there but that's it.
Now if he had tried to move a hive that will REALLY piss them off and they will be trying to sting you like they mean it. Trust me, I've done that.
